Pedra da Lua

About this property

Located in a small little village called Corisquinho which is one of several small forest village locations that follow the road out of Parati up into the hills and rainforest.

This beautiful house is situated in the foothills of the Atlantic Rainforest in a truely peaceful and stunning location. It is built to make the best use of its environment. The garden is landscaped to blend seamlessly into the rainforest and the land slopes down into the forest with paths that lead through the trees to a river "pebbled" with large white boulders where it is safe and fun to go swimming. Or just take a walk up or down the river and across the little bridges dotted about  and admire the waterfalls. Or if you prefer you can take a dip in its own natural design swimming pool which sits beside a large pond both situated at the foot of the garden.

The house itself is creatively and simply designed. Built on two levels you enter the gate and pass through the front garden to enter the house on the upper level - the kitchen/diner space. Down a few stairs and you are in a large living area (the whole space is open plan). The front of the house from the living area is floor to ceiling windows to create a beautifully light airy space looking down the garden towards the forest and river.

Step out of the door here onto a veranda with roof. Space enough for dinner parties. Currently used as a second comfy sitting area with hammocks and armchairs. Lights  have been creatively placed to show off the garden to its best after dark.

The main house has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms - one of which is en-suite for the master bedroom.

To the right of the house is an extension built to house guests or be used as a workshop/utility space. This comprises of a kitchen /diner downstairs and a bedroom upstairs and also has a shower room. To the front of the extension (to the right of the patio as you look down the garden) is a sheltered purpose built Barbecue area.

Total size of land is 1150 square metres.

The road from Parati passes outside the front of the house (beyond the garden ) and if you are not driving there is a seat outside where you can wait for the local bus. There are double gates into the front garden and plenty of car parking space.

The nearest small village is Corrisco which is a 5 minute drive. The nearest town is Parati approx  3 miles in distance. This is about a 15 - 20 minute drive. Parati is a stunning seaside resort full of old colonial Portugese architecture and is a favoured Brazilian getaway. It has a huge variety of festivals nearly every weekend - some drawing people from around the world ( such as its famous international literature festival which arttracts many famous authors)

To get here you would fly to Rio.  From there Coach is best to Parati (Sometimes spelt Paraty) then bus to Corisquinho

Parati is situated halfway between Rio and San Paulo and many people from both cities have second holiday homes here living side by side with local families whose history of forest living is truely spellbounding.

We look forward to hearing from you and providing any further information you would like.
